Is it legal for pizza guy to do this?

If I order a pizza from Domino's online, they say to have the credit card and driver's license ready. But when the delivery guy got here, he asked for my credit card and used a coin to scratch my ENTIRE number, name, expiration date, the whole front of my card.

Is this legal? If this guy took a glance at the back of my card he'd have everything he needed to go shopping with MY money. Is it legal for pizza guy to do this?
Not all Domino's does this, but it's legal. This is proof positive that you are the card holder and it was delivered to you in person. Obviously the outlet you order from has a lot of people that claim fraud and have the charge reversed. So the people got free pizza and the outlet loses money.
It's perfectly legal. Maybe you are too young to remember the credit card imprinters that were used prior to wide spread phone/internet connections. Merchants would take your card and make a carbon imprint of the front of it to verify a purchase and charge you. Instead of using a machine that is bulky and cost money, a common technique to take an imprint is by placing a piece of receipt paper on top of the card and using an edge to scrape the imprint manually.

Manual imprinters are an inexpensive solution to provide the cardholder with a dated transaction receipt and protect businesses against fraud losses. They can also be used without power. They are almost identical to doing the whole process manually as your pizza delivery man did by using a pen.Is it legal for pizza guy to do this?
It is leagal he does it on the reciept b\c he turns that in at the end of his shift. it as if he collected a check. yes he cud write it down but thats rare. thats a risk u take with payong for delivery with a cc. wheter online or phone ur giving out ur cc number info anyway. i used to wrk there and at one point not intentionally memorized a cc number becaus they called everyday. to prevent ur fears try pick up nextn time.
I wouldnt hadnt taken the pizza that pizza couldve ruined your life, go to the bank and change ur card numbers its freeIs it legal for pizza guy to do this?
What's the problem. Any credit card transaction needs these items.
if he did this to a cop, what do you think the answer would be?
