A sad situation. Can you help me understand?

Thanks to all for answering.

Last week someone in my home used my computer to participate on Yahoo! game site ( Dominos).

This person is my nephew. Anyway, I pay my online bills with my credit card every now and then. I assume my computer is fully protected, including personal firewall, Anti Virus and spyware protection.

My little Nephew, 15 years old, had issues with Members in the Yahoo! game room. I didn't know this until the nightmare occured. My credit card was stolen and used. I had to close my credit card down. The following day my other credit card was used, which I immediately closed it down.

My Nephew said someone in the Yahoo! game room threatened to trace his IP address to give him a prosonal visit.

He said he never gave anyone his home address, or sign up for anything online; he simply plays games on the Yahoo! game site.

Couple nights ago someone knocked on my house door. The person looked strange, so I called the cops. etcA sad situation. Can you help me understand?
I dont think this is a game room deal. Go google IP tacers and trace your ip and you will see it does not give a direct adress. Something fishy is going on here.
WOW THAT IS CRAZY, YOUR NEPHEW PROBABLY REALLY PI**ED SOME PEOPLE OFF, BUT I DON'T THINK IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET CREDIT CARD NUMBERS AND HOME ADDRESSES FROM A GAME LIKE THAT..I WOULD CONTACT YAHOO...MAYBE THEY CAN HELP...GOOD LUCK AND STAY SAFEA sad situation. Can you help me understand?
In all honestly I think the situation with the guy at your door is something totally different.
It's sounds like there's more to the story than your nephew is telling you.

You might arrange for a policeman to visit you in your home with your nephew present. It may underscore how serious the matter is and get him to talk about what really is happening.

It would also restore some sense of security in your home that you have lost.A sad situation. Can you help me understand?
i think your nephew isn't tell you something, hes probably scared youll get even more mad? you really need to talk to him and make sure he told you everything. anyone can get your credit card or IP address from even the last name... was his yahoo account username his name? i think hes not telling you something.
looks like you or someone has let in a keylogger spying software or something.do the scans again and see.It is very strange that your card details went to public.may be the gamming site was phising, you know when a web site looks original but it is not.

If I were you I would cancel all the cards you may of used on that computer, chance is someone got all your details.
I am admittedly scared for you. Calling the police was a good move. I think you need to question your nephew further- I'm suprised game agro could cause such problems :s

However from personal experience I find paranoia can deffinately get the better of me. To be honest I reckon your nephew caught a virus on your computer (porn and such to my reckoning) which will explain the credit card fraud. The knocking on the door could therefore be pure coincidence. Just do what you're doing with the whole credit card cancellation and such. Never let your nephew use your internet again- that's for sure!

Good luck (Y)
The first thing you need to do is make your nephew tell you what really happened. If he was actually in the game room and not catching viruses, then he must have said something to get these guys so mad. Even if it was the same person who knocked on the door, what are the odds that they live close enough to you to come and do that? And what would motivate them to do such a thing. Call the police again, and talk with a policeman and your nephew to find out the whole story. I'm sorry about the credit card, hope you're all safe, and get this resolved.
report any suspicious activity to the police

you never know who or what you will encounter in the www
I agree with the others, your nephew is into something more dangerous and personal than an internet game room.
