This was a fairly popular tune of the time with many R%26amp;B and country/rockabilly renditions.
Probably the BEST known version is by Jerry Lee Lewis but there are also versions by the Johnny Burnette Trio, Andy Kirk and his Clouds of Joy (no sample, sorry), and Stick McGhee (who I believe did the original R%26amp;B version. No sample for that one either).
I'd be willing to bet it was Jerry Lee "The Killer" Lewis doing the one you heard, though.
