Look in yellow pages on line for restaurants in your immediate area. that have a website. Pizza and chinese are the biggest. in online ordering.in most places. You may be able to find a deli or Italian that delivers.
It'll take a little digging but they are there.
You didn't say what part of NY you're in or I'd help you look.

www.seamlessweb.com. You do have to create an account, but they have a good selection of restaurants in Manhattan and you can look them up by average price, customer rating, neighbourhood and cuisine.

There is always Chinese food, but actually a lot of the good restaurants do deliver. I don't know where you are so I can't help that easily. I know that most Coffee Shops deliver and that gives you a large selection. On the upper eastside, there is a really great resteraunt Annies, around 78th and Lex that delivers the whole menu, and the food is great. West side, a resteraunt called Rain, Thai food that is incredible delivers. Try going to google and put in something like delivery,food, NY City, then put your area. I've tried that and it's worked.
